Proof of Address
As part of 1Money’s onboarding and ongoing compliance processes, we may need to verify the physical address of a business or an individual. Proof of address is used to confirm residency, operational presence, and the consistency of information provided.
Proof of address may be required in the following circumstances:
- To verify the residential address of key individuals, including Ultimate Beneficial Owners, Persons with Significant Control, Authorized Persons, and, for non-U.S. entities, Directors
- To verify the registered or operating address of a business
- Where additional verification is required to complete onboarding or support an ongoing or periodic review
Business - POA Requirements
Business proof of address documents must:
- Confirm the current registered or operating address
- Be issued in the legal name of the business
- Be recent (generally issued within the last 90 days, unless otherwise stated)
- Show a physical address (PO boxes and virtual addresses are not accepted)
Accepted Business Documents
Commonly accepted documents include:
- Bank statement in the business name
- Utility bill for business premises
- Government-issued correspondence
- Office or commercial lease agreement (must be current; may be older than 90 days)
- Business license displaying the address
- Company registry extract or registration certificate
- Tax authority or VAT correspondence showing the address
Registered Agent Addresses Where a registered agent address is used, we may request additional confirmation, such as a registered agent letter or mail-handling agreement.
DAOs If a DAO does not maintain a physical operating address, proof of residential address for a verified control person may be accepted instead.
Individual — POA Requirements
Individual proof of address documents must:
- Confirm the current residential address
- Be issued in the individual’s full legal name, matching onboarding records
- Be recent (generally issued within the last 90 days, unless otherwise stated)
- Show a physical residential address
Accepted Individual Document Types
Accepted documents include:
- Utility bills (electricity, water, gas, internet, or landline)
- Bank or credit card statements
- Government-issued correspondence (e.g., tax letters, social benefit notices)
- Residence registration or certificate of domicile
- Residential lease or tenancy agreement (must be current)
- Local authority or municipal tax bills
- Insurance policies showing residential address (home, health, or vehicle)
- Driver’s license or national ID card, where it includes a full residential address and is current
Document Quality & Submission Standards
All proof of address documents must:
- Clearly display the full legal name
- Show the complete address
- Include the date of issue
- Display the issuer’s name or logo
- Be submitted as a clear, color scan or photo (PDF, JPEG, or PNG), size limit: 3MB
- Show the entire document (no cropped or partial images)
